DAYTON — It figures Trotwood-Madison and Dunbar would bring out the best in each other.
"A lot of people questioned how good we are," said T-M center Chris Wright following a sensational 66-64 defeat of Dunbar in Saturday night's boys high school basketball showdown at the University of Dayton Arena.

"We wanted to show we can play."
None of the 8,000-plus in attendance would doubt that. All saluted a monster game that featured 13 dunks, nine treys and a ton of mutual admiration.
No one was better than Wright: game-high 29 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks and a half-dozen windmill throwdowns.
Dunbar guard Norris Cole did his best with 18 points, four assists and two dunks. Aaron Pogue added 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Josh Benson, like Wright also headed to UD, added 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Dunbar (12-2) led 57-54 midway through the fourth quarter on Benson's rebound bucket. Wright answered with a slam jam: three dunks.
"There was a time in the past that Trotwood might have folded up the tent right there," said Rams coach Larry Ham, whose team is 13-1. "(Dunbar) played like the state champions that they were. We knew it wasn't going to be a pushover."
